The Impressionist Brush
Technological advancement has introduced automated techniques in aiding the printing and production of canvas prints in ones choice of colours and hues. Printing photos on canvas and the canvas printing techniques have resulted in reduction of time and efforts, which otherwise an artist would take months on end to create an impression by hand on canvas.
The affordability factor for the artist could easily empty his pocket. In the past an artist would enlighten the canvas with gold leafs and gold dust, whereas the modern art in canvas printing would only require golden colour to copy such illusions. My interest in art developed over time as I started to read and write about art work. Further to the admiration took me noticing every art work around me weather they were shop sign boards or an artistic touch in painting given to the heavy load carriers or a piece of art in the museum.
The Antique Touch On Canvas
Admiring artists and art work, my eyes fell on a calligraphic art hung on the wall of a stairway, which previously was a mere glance to me while passing bye. The wall hanging was done on an old wooden frame and subject to weather and a termite attack. A close look revealed a talisman sign in beautiful calligraphic style. I immediately had a feeling that it must be something special and needed more respect to the display. A curator’s opinion revealed a piece of art in calligraphy written in gold water with red and blue minerals. Further investigation revealed that the art was drawn on a parchment or vellum. It was decided there and then that before gifting the piece to a museum or to a proper care, its image to be scanned for putting photos onto canvas or taken to a canvas printer in person for the required canvas print.
Symbolizing On Canvas
The canvas print gave a whole new dimension to the parchment impression. The calligraphic writing resembled a peacock feather, which online canvas printing could be bloomed to an appropriate size to reveal the true colours of the crown on the tail of the peacock feather. The peacock symbolizes immortality, holiness, nobility, guidance and spirituality to name a few - a perfect match for a talisman. The canvas printer brought out true colours of the image, which now line along with similar prints as wall display package in the gallery.
